What a week it’s been! Did you see we won Best Upcoming Brand last weekend?!
We’ve also just launched our new Desk Workout series and it’s already a huge hit with our squaddies. We’ve had some great feedback.
Do you have an office job and/or are you quite sedentary during the day?
Why Snackable Mobility is a Game-Changer!
For those of us with desk jobs, it’s crucial to incorporate more movement into our daily routines. This is where snackable mobility workouts come in.
Just a few minutes of movement can significantly reduce the risks associated with prolonged sitting, like stiffness, fatigue, and even more serious health issues.
Top 5 Tips for Staying Active at Your Desk
1. Set a Timer: Use a timer to remind yourself to move every 60 minutes. Stand up, stretch, or do a quick desk exercise from our series.
2. Hydrate Often: Drinking water not only keeps you hydrated but also gives you a reason to get up and refill your glass regularly.
3. Stretch: Incorporate stretches into your routine to relieve muscle tension and improve flexibility. Some seated rotations, forward folds, lateral flexion, extension.
4. Use Your Lunch Break: Dedicate part of your lunch break to a walk or a more extended workout session. You DESERVE and are allowed to make time for you!
5. Engage in Deskercises: Join the squad and follow our Desk Workout series for short, effective routines that fit into your busy schedule. They’re great fun to do and easy to fit into your day!
6. Take Walking Meetings: Whenever possible, suggest walking meetings instead of sitting in a conference room.
7. Stand While You Work: Use a standing desk or improvise with a high table or counter to break the habit of sitting all day.
8. Move During Calls: Stand up or walk around while you’re on phone calls to get in some extra steps.
The Importance of Moving More, More Often
We all know the benefits of staying active, but it’s especially important when we’re tied to our desks. Regular movement helps to:
Boost energy levels – you’ll feel better in yourself!
Improve concentration and productivity – you’ll get more done!
Reduce stress and anxiety – reduce your cortisol!
Promote better posture and prevent musculoskeletal problems – no-one wants to be the person who pulls their back picking up a pen…
