One of the the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life… 😅 (harder than a marathon, jumping out a plane, climbing Kilimanjaro, cycling to France…)
About 6 months ago, I discovered that my body wasn’t as happy as I thought. 😬
I was a healthy BMI and felt totally fine. 🤷🏼♀️
There was no way of me knowing!
BUT without going into details (you can fill in the blanks), I found out that my body wasn’t okay 😔 so I did something about it.
I am currently the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life but also the healthiest. I have gained a stone.
My energy, cycles, and vitality are all there! 🤗
They weren’t before… (again, there wasn’t a way of me knowing things weren’t okay).
Reflecting on the 1990’s and 2000s… I remember how magazines demonized carbs, criticized women’s bodies and obsessed over being “skinny”.
Back then, it was all about losing weight, being “thin” – not about doing what you needed to be healthy.
But what if we shifted the focus?
If you’re overweight, lose weight. 🏋️♀️
If you’re underweight, gain weight. 🍎
If you’re unfit, start exercising. 🏃♂️
If you do too much, cut back a bit. ⏸️
… all with the view that the goal should be health and thriving, not just surviving.
If I could’ve gone back and told my younger self (the last two pictures), “If you just put a few more pounds on (or a stone), you’d not only feel and look better, BUT you’d actually be healthy—what you’ve always strived for…”
We only have one life.
Live it to the fullest.
Control the controllables.
Be the best version of YOU! ✨
And, share something if you think it could help someone else.
This is my share today – hoping to help at least one person today. 🌟
