Anyway, onto today’s newsletter – let’s go!
This week has been Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme has been movement: moving more to feel good.
We’ve been celebrating the incredible power of physical activity to boost our mental well-being. Exercise isn’t just about fitness or looking good—it’s a fantastic tool for improving your mood, reducing stress, and enhancing your overall mental health.
Movement really IS medicine!
As humans, we were designed to move. When we don’t, our energy drops, we feel sluggish, our digestion is rubbish and we don’t feel good. It’s as simple as that!
Here are a few simple actions you can take to incorporate more movement into your daily routine and boost your mental well-being:
- Start Your Day with Stretching: Begin your morning with a 5-10 minute stretch to wake up your body and mind. We have some of these on demand.
- Take Movement Breaks: Set a timer to remind yourself to stand up and move around every hour. A quick walk or a few jumping jacks can re-energize you.
- Walk and Talk: Turn your phone calls into walking meetings. It’s an easy way to get steps in without even thinking about it.
- Join a Class: Whether it’s live at 6:30am in your PJ’s, On Demand after the school drop-off, lunch-break session or an after work live to transition from work-home life, getting involved in a fitness community (like our online squad), is a great, easy and fun way to get fitness in. With being online, you can fit it in when suits you!
- Evening Wind Down: Finish your day with a gentle yoga or stretching session to relax your body and mind before bed. Pre bed-time yoga is a FAVE on the online squad!
These small, manageable steps can have a big impact on how you feel.
So, let’s embrace the theme of movement, get active, and boost our mental health together. Remember, every little bit counts!
See you next week!
Love,
Lorna x
